Синопсис: Валерий и его сын Славка на каникулы приезжают в деревню, проведать родные края, тем более, что должно исполниться 10 лет, как не стало матери Валерия. Об этом узнаёт Мария, сестра Валерия, которая живёт у тёти Ани с немым сыном Родькой. Когда то давно, Валерий выгнал Марию с сыном из, отчего дома, обвинив её, в том, что она повинна в смерти матери, с тех пор они не общаются. После службы в церкви, Родька возвращался домой, его подкараулили Славка и Петька и избили. Через несколько дней Славка, идя с Петькой по карьеру, проваливается под лёд и начинает тонуть, Петька бежит звать на помощь. В это время в доме, Валерий и соседи, отмечают приезд Валерия со Славкой.
