Но неожиданно его отправляют в Карелию, в горноспасательный отряд под руководством опытного и жесткого командира Сергея Гиреева. Саша знакомится со своей новой командой — спасателем Колей Петровым, кинологом по прозвищу Старик, врачом Таней и псом Пузырём. Стажер уверяет, что здесь он всего на несколько дней, но командир советует ему приготовиться к серьезной работе. Уже на первом происшествии Александр рвется помочь, но задание оборачивается для новичка катастрофой…
